Lammas Ritual Indoors this evening

Don’t worry about the weather – the Frederick CUUPS Lammas Ritual will take place inside this evening 🙂  The ritual begins at 7:45 pm.  Full details below:

Join Frederick CUUPS for an open, family-friendly Lammas Ritual! Lammas or Lughnassadh is the time of year when plants first start to drop their fruits or seeds. The bounty and fullness of Summer are in full swing, and we begin to harvest what we have sown. Around the world, cultures are celebrating the abundance around us. Join Frederick CUUPS for a Lammas Ritual on Friday, July 28th, at 7:45 pm. This family-friendly ritual will honor some of the Gods and Goddesses of the Harvest and provide an opportunity to make offerings and petitions within Sacred Space.

Due to the weather, the ritual will be held indoors in the sanctuary.

The Deities honored will be: Pachamama, Demeter, Cernunnos, Sif, Osiris, and Annapurna Devi. Each Altar will have offerings provided – you do not need to bring anything with you (unless you feel so called).

Irene made a video teaching the chants and talking a litle bit about what to expect. Watch it here: https://www.facebook.com/irene.glasse/videos/10212328744907085/

Snack/dessert potluck to follow, please clearly LABEL any offerings with the ingredients included.

One of the Deities honored at Lammas will be Cernunnos. The practitioner speaking for Him is Nick, and Nick is also a Reiki practitioner.

Cernnunos is one of the lords and protectors of all animals. As such, Nick would like to offer a healing Reiki service, combined with Cernnunos blessing for any of your animal companions. Please feel free to bring one of your companion’s toys, treats, bed, blanket, pillow or other object that is theirs to have it Reiki charged and Cernnunos’s blessing to heal and protect your companion.

If your companion has a specific ailment that you’re concerned about, an object that comes in contact with that area of their body may be most effective. But the Reiki energy will radiate from the object as well. A picture of your pet may be useful as well to attune the energy and blessing to them.

Lyrics to the chants:

There Is No Time by Kellianna:

There is no time but now,
There is no place but here,
In the sacred we do stand,
In a circle hand in hand

Hoof and Horn, Hoof and Horn,
All that dies shall be reborn,
Corn and Grain, Corn and Grain,
All that falls shall rise again

The circle, circle is open,
But never, never broken
