Masquerade COVID Policy Announced

Good morning! We are so excited to be able to host the Masquerade Ball this year on March 19th. We’ve finalized negotiations with the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Frederick, our venue, for our COVID safety protocols.

If you are unable or unwilling to meet these safety protocols, simply request a refund by emailing fcuups@gmail.com

**COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS**

Vaccine required, including a booster for anyone who is eligible*:

~ If you received, Pfizer or Moderna, everyone age 18+ is eligible if 6 months after completing your primary COVID-19 vaccination series.

~ If you received, Johnson & Johnson’s, everyone 18+ is eligible if 2 months after completing your primary COVID-19 vaccination.

~ In either case, you can receive either of the COVID-19 boosters.

~ By the date of the ball, you need to be at least two weeks after your booster shot, which is how long it takes to be fully effective, so be sure to get your booster shot by the end of February.

~ If you are eligible, you can schedule an appointment through marylandvax.org.

Acceptable proof is:

~ A photograph on a device or paper of your vaccination card

~ For those states that provide them, an app that shows vaccination status or vaccine passport

~ You will be turned away if you do not verify that you are vaccinated.

MASKS required when not eating or drinking

~ Neck gaiters are not sufficient.

~ Actual face masks are required that fully cover the mouth and nose.

~ KN95 masks are strongly encouraged

CONSENT: Ask permission before physically touching another person, shaking hands, hugging, etc.

COVID case rates are dropping rapidly in our area. Depending on community tranmission rates, we may be able to go to a masks-optional policy. It all depends on how the pandemic shifts over the next few weeks.

Thank you so much for your patience, and we can’t wait to dance the night away with you on March 19th!
